How to Turn on an HP Laptop

The only real way to turn on most HP laptops is by pressing the power button. If your laptop is in sleep mode, you may just be able to open the lid, but if it’s powered down, then you’ll need to press the power button. Depending on which HP laptop you have, the power button will be located in slightly different places. Some have it on the side, others on one of the corners on the back, while others still have it located just above the keyboard on the bottom half of the laptop. If you need help finding your laptop’s power button, refer to the manufacturer’s manual, or check out HP’s support site for documentation.

What Do I Do If My HP Laptop Won’t Turn On?

If you press the power button and your HP laptop doesn’t turn on, it may not be broken. There are a number of steps you can take to try to fix the problem. If none of the above works, you’ll need to try taking the laptop in for repair. If it’s under warranty, consider taking it back to the retailer, or HP, otherwise find a well-reviewed and qualified repair shop.
