Set a Music Alarm With Alexa

If you’ve been searching the sound section of Alarms in the Alexa app, you’re probably scratching your head by now as to where the music option is. As of this writing, there no option in the Alexa app to select new music as your alarm sound. But that doesn’t mean you can’t do it!

“Alexa, set an alarm for 6 AM tomorrow to play Taylor Swift.”“Alexa, wake me up with ‘Vogue’ by Madonna at 6 AM every day.”“Alexa, set an alarm to play 80’s music at 6 AM tomorrow.”

Just like you can specify the song or artist you want to use as your alarm sound, you can also denote the music service. So if you have more than one service connected, include your preference in your command.

Now You Have Music Options in the Alexa App

Bonus! Once you instruct Alexa to set a music alarm, that song, artist, or station will display as a Sound option for future alarms in the app.

Set a Music Alarm With an Alexa Routine

You’ll then see your new routine in the list with any others you have set up previously. And when the time comes, you should hear that song, artist, or whatever you picked play. Until the Alexa app offers a way to add new music as your alarm sound, you do have options. So get Alexa’s help to hear your favorite music automatically each day.
