How to Get Dark Mode on TikTok for iOS
Dark mode, which reverses the light and dark colors, so the background appears darker while the text appears lighter, is only available for the iOS version of the TikTok app. The feature is expected to roll out on TikTok for Android, but it’s not clear when. You can change the appearance settings on TikTok for iOS any time you want and as often as you like. Refer to steps one through three above to do this at your convenience. Alternatively, if you want TikTok to shift between dark and light mode according to your device’s settings, tap the Use device settings button to turn it on.
Why Use Dark Mode on TikTok?
Dark mode is easier on the eyes in low light conditions, such as at night. It reduces eye strain and is ideal for when you’re not planning to read lengthy paragraphs of text. When you enable dark mode on TikTok, you won’t see any changes on the Home or Post tabs. Instead, you’ll notice the appearance change on tabs like Discover, Inbox, and Me. If you use TikTok almost entirely to view videos within your Home feed or post your own content, you may not notice much of a difference by enabling dark mode. However, if you regularly like to search for new content on the Discover tab, message other users, and access your profile, enabling dark mode may benefit you.
